Spray foam insulation is a two component system, which fuses together under heat and pressure, creating insulation on the surface, expanding before your eyes.

We offer superior spray foam insulation solutions. We offer open and closed cell insulation for walls, attics, and shops. We serve central Iowa, Des Moines and surrounding areas. Spray foam insulation will contribute to saving money on energy bills and energy usage. Spray foam insulation will not only offer the comforts of energy efficiency year around, it will also contribute to pest control in crawl spaces and attics. We can inject walls without existing insulation, inject pontoon boats to ensure buoyancy without taking on water. The open cell foam can also be used as a sound barrier. Closed cell spray foam will offer an air barrier and a moisture barrier. The average R-value per inch on our closed cell insulation is 6.8-7.1 per inch of insulation as opposed to fiberglass offering about R-2 per inch. Open cell spray foam offers an R-value of 4.1 per inch. The closed cell insulation is very ideal for basement and crawlspaces due to its moisture barrier and mold resistant attributes.

Spray foam insulation is a superior insulation for homes, garages, shops, barns, and agriculture buildings. Spray foam will stop air flow and closes cell spray foam will offer and additional attribute of moisture barrier. Studies by the US Dept. of Energy show that 40% of a home’s energy is lost as the result of air infiltration through walls, windows and doorways. Buildings insulated with spray foam, insulate as much as 50% better than traditional insulation products.

Due to its ability to expand during the application process, it fills cracks, crevices and voids and adheres to irregular surfaces, or substrates, to form an air sealing insulation. Stopping the air flow is critical with retaining and keeping consistent temperatures. Traditional insulations will turn gray or black indicating airflow and act as an air filter. Traditional fiberglass can also take on moisture and mold, contributing to allergies. Spray foam is the healthier option for insulating any structure in addition to adding strength to the building.

Spray foam has a range of 4-7 R-value per inch, spray foam will be a more effective insulator because it is stopping airflow and with a closed cell foam it also will act as a moisture barrier, and mold resistant.

Spray foam will result in significant energy savings; as wells as, extending the life span of your HVAC system and construction materials.

Although the cost of spray foam is initially more than traditional fiberglass or cellulose, it can pay for itself within the first 3-5 years.  It will also continue to save you money for your remaining years in that home.

Spray foam insulation also offers the benefits of an air barrier, moisture barrier, sound barrier, and pest barrier (depending on the foam).

Open cell is a semi-rigid material with a sponge-like appearance that expands during installation and creates small, open cells. It is a low density softer foam meant for indoor applications only. Open cell offers a better price per R-value. It is typically sprayed 5-8 inches thick, giving you an R-value of 20-32.

Open cell spray foam insulation can be sprayed in new homes, injected into walls with no insulation and sprayed in attics as an air barrier and superior insulation vs the traditional fiberglass insulation. Fiberglass will act as an air filter, letting in unwanted allergens, mold spores and unwanted dust. Homes with spray foam insulation will not only save homeowners money on energy bills, it will contribute to healthier lifestyles. Open cell can be applied in open stud walls, attic encapsulation, and injected in walls with no insulation, and dry rim joist above the basement wall. Open cell spray foam is a more cost effective option as opposed to closed cell spray foam, yet doesn’t have the vapor barrier feature. Open and closed cell Spray foam can save and extra 30-50% on energy bills. Spray foam will pay for itself in the first 3-5 years. Do not let a spray foam company apply open cell spray foam in your basement or crawlspace. Open cell spray foam can take on moisture. In the basement and crawl space setting it is highly advised to use closed cell foam.

Closed cell is a rigid insulating material with a Long Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR) R-value that ranges between 7-7.5 R-value for every one inch thick. Sprayed at 2 inches thick, it will offer over an R-value of 14.

Closed cell insulation has several benefits aside from insulation factors. Closed cell spray foam insulation offers an air barrier, moisture barrier and in some cases pest control and mold and mildew resistance. Crawlspaces and basements are a perfect location for good insulating performance and also keeping unwanted critters out of these spaces. If mice can sense heat or smell food, they want in. With spray foam insulation, this significantly reduces the unwanted pests as well as offering superior energy efficiency. Get foam, Save Money on energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint. Closed cell is recommended in metal buildings as well. We have 7 uninsulated metal buildings that all leak at our shop. Closed cell spray foam can put a stop to that problem and add significant strength to your buildings, racking effect. Do not let anybody spray your metal building with open cell spray foam because its a cheaper option. Do it right the first time with Precision!

Closed cell foam offers some similar features to open cell with a few added benefits. It can act as a moisture barrier, pest barrier, and provides tensile strength, which gives you added structural support. Closed cell acting as a moisture barrier is not intended to fix leaks, yet will keep moisture from coming through surfaces as temperatures and humidity fluctuates. Closed cell is great for agricultural and shop applications, rim joists, attics, subbase insulation for floor heating systems and much more.
